CENTRAL LONDON
Guest of Honour: Linda Cregan, Chief Executive, Children's Food Trust
This seminar will focus on the policy measures being introduced to improve children's nutrition in the UK, and will be timed to assess the forthcoming Government-commissioned action plan to accelerate the improvement of school food. Planned sessions bring out latest thinking on how Government can make nutritious food more widely available in schools, strategies for schools and parents to encourage children to eat healthy food, and the position of academies and free schools in the current regulatory framework.
With 30% of children aged between two and 15 currently overweight or obese, the agenda will also address the progress made in the prevention and treatment of childhood obesity, and the latest on how effectively Government is working with industry to improve children's nutrition.
We are delighted to be able to include in this seminar keynote addresses from Anne Bull, National Chair, Local Authorities Caters Association (LACA); Linda Cregan, Chief Executive, Children's Food Trust; Neil Lovell, Chief Executive Officer, Jamie Oliver's Better Food Foundation and Professor Terence Stephenson, Chairman, Academy of Medical Royal Colleges.
Jared Brading, Executive Headteacher, Sacred Heart RC Primary School, London and
St Mary's Catholic Primary School, London; Malcolm Clark, Co-ordinator, Children's Food Campaign, Sustain; Joanna Lewis, Head of Policy, Soil Association; Dr Joanne Lunn, Nutritionist, Waitrose; Glyn Owen, Class Teacher, Ashton Vale Primary School, Bristol and Claire Rosling, Community Engagement Worker, The Community Farm have also agreed to speak.
