Bringing good food to your doorstep – an evening of talks at Better Food

Join us in Bristol on the evening of Thursday 16 February, as we share the farm's story.

A series of talks will demonstrate how each of us can contribute to transforming our food and farming system, and how forward-thinking farms like ours can help everyone to do this.

The event will be held from 6pm to 7.30pm on 16 February at Better Food, independent retailer and café in Bristol's new Wapping Wharf development.

The event is free and there is no need to book, but it would be useful to have an idea of numbers, So please email us at to let us know if you plan to come along.

The event

  • An introduction by Ped Asgarian, The Community Farm’s Managing Director, will give an overview of the farm and its approach to farming and retailing food.
  • Angela Raffle will explain how individuals can play an important role in creating a food and farming system that works for all.
  • Sarah Pitt will explore nature-friendly farming and how we can view the farm as a kind of nature reserve, where birds, beetles, mammals and amphibians can live their lives alongside ours.

The full address of the venue is Better Food, 1-5 Gaol Ferry Steps, Wapping Wharf, BS1 6WE

About the farm

The Community Farm is no ordinary farm – it is a social enterprise owned by hundreds of local people. We grow and sell healthy, locally-sourced and organic food, and manage ourselves in a way that promotes the health and well-being of local people and local wildlife.

Profits from our organic box delivery service are ploughed back into our mission to bring people closer to the land and the food they eat. This includes learning experiences and activities for local children, adults and vulnerable people, as well as activities to help wildlife thrive around the farm.
