This year we launched a new product called “Veg on the Edge”.
Veg on the Edge is a mixed bag of vegetables and fruit which do not make the grade for our regular boxes, but are still edible and good to use. The vegetables and fruits may have blemishes, soft ends or yellow leaves, or we may simply have an unexpected glut of them. The aim is to reduce food waste while still offering top-quality vegetable boxes.This year we have sold 1,066 2kg bags of Veg on the Edge, which is over two tonnes of fruit and vegetables that could have gone to waste, totalling £2,132. Any we have left over is donated to Fareshare South West but sometimes we even sell out. This means almost zero waste!
