Press release: Free mindfulness sessions at The Community Farm

Free mindfulness workshops are being hosted at The Community Farm, Chew Magna.

The sessions are being delivered by Ecowild and aim to help people from all walks of life learn skills to look after their own mental health.

The course, which runs on Mondays from 10am, has already had successful results, according to its participants, who claim they’ve learnt techniques to find peace of mind, relief from anxiety and gained the tools to cope with depression.

A mother of one of the attendees explained: “My son has been suffering from mental health problems for over 20 years. It wasn't until he started attending mindfulness classes that we started to see some improvement in his eagerness and ability to interact with others.
“There’s nothing that comes anywhere close to the therapeutic effects of these outdoor sessions at The Community Farm.”

Emily Malik, Director of Ecowild, said: “We’ve had a lot of good feedback about our session’s ability to reduce suffering and give people a better quality of life.

“We believe The Community Farm’s beautiful setting of wild hedgerows, views, garden spaces and farmland provide powerful opportunities for life-changing experiences.”

The sessions are followed by outdoor workshops including willow weaving, wood carving, fire cooking, and singing for wellbeing, all of which must be booked in advance through the Wellbeing College.
