Just after Christmas one of our volunteers, Alan McAteer, made a pinhole camera and installed it at the top field on the Farm. The camera faced due South and was left there until Tuesday this week. It's now been taken down and Alan has processed the photographic paper in the camera. The image shows the passage of the sun across the sky over a period of almost six months.
Alan says:
"White bands show the track of the sun on a particular day and gaps in the white bands are due to clouds. Where there are no white bands it means that the sun didn't shine on those days...which was many. You can see Chew Magna Lake and also Denny Island on the lower right of the image."
Our thanks to Alan for producing such a fascinating image.....and reminding us just how poor, wet and grey our Spring has been.
