In the coming week we'll be selling the last of the Farm's free-range organic pork for this year.
With the nights drawing in and Christmas around the corner, wouldn't it be nice to look forward to some hearty meals and have the ingredients to make them?
We are selling quarter-pig boxes for £70, each box contains a selection of joints, chops, sausages, bacon, etc.
We sold out of our previous batch and these are the last boxes that will be available until next Spring.
If you'd like to buy a box, please go to http://bit.ly/tcfarm-pork and enter your details. Once you've placed your order we'll get back to you as soon as possible to arrange payment and discuss a suitable collection time, (or delivery if you are unable to collect).
But hurry we're aiming to have all boxes sold by the end of next week!
Too much meat?
The meat does fit into a surprisingly small space in your freezer and of course you can eat some of it fresh. However ,if you think a quarter-pig sounds too much for you or your family, maybe you could buy together with a friend or family member.
About our pigs
Those of you who have vistited the Farm will know just how free-range our pigs are. Each pig spends its entire life in our fields, right from birth. The pigs enjoy a large area to roam in and have lots of mud to roll in. They are allowed to grow slowly and in their own time. We believe this makes our pork leaner and tastier. We've had some great feedback from customers who've already bought a box.
Pigs are an integral part of the farming operation here at The Community Farm. They play a vital role in preparing ground, eating weeds and clearing old crops. Perhaps their most important role is converting vegetable waste into pork.
Would you like some vegetables with that?
Of course at The Community Farm we do so much more than rearing pigs. We grow vegetables on 22 acres of land and have over 400 customers each week enjoying our vegetable box deliveries. Not already ordering from us? Why not take a look at our range of vegetable boxes and try some out with your pork?
