Since the beginning of lockdown, people involved with local food and farming in and around Bristol have had all sorts of interesting challenges emerge that shed new light on our local food system and the systems it intersects.
We at The Community Farm decided that it would be useful to collect and curate this information into article form.
Our call-to-arms was answered by many fantastic contributors affiliated with the Soil Association, Feed Bristol, Better Food, Going For Gold Bristol, EcoWild, Poco Tapas Bar and The Community Farm itself. A HUGE thank you to all of them for taking the time to share their knowledge and experiences.
This collection of 15 articles, titled "Lessons From Lockdown", can be downloaded below as a free PDF.
We hope that the content will prove useful to small businesses and organisations who are perhaps struggling to thrive now, and who may struggle further if a future lockdown is announced. The insights and findings collected here should help these independent players navigate this exceptional period of socio-economic upheaval.
There are also some personal experiences included that discuss the importance of nature connection as a tonic for wellness during times of upheaval.
Please take a read and, if you feel moved to do so, please share it with your networks, and share your own experiences, too.
Thank you,
The Community Farm
