Have you got a flare for the creative or a talent for textiles?
We are looking for some creative people to help us make a scarecrow for Harvey's Scarecrow Trail, an annual fundraising event held around the Chew Valley in October.
The Trail, from 5 to 31 October is made in a show of support for a very unique little boy - Harvey Hext. At eight years old he's the only known child in the world to have Down's syndrome and neuroblastoma, a form of cancer that attacks the nervous system. This year's theme is "Let the music play". Scarecrow designs can be anything musically inspired i.e. a band, singer, musical, album or song. They can be any size and made from anything! We make the scarecrow then visitors on the Trail guess who it is.
We're planning to assemble the scarecrow at our Community Farmer Day on 26 September although it can be worked on any time from now until 4th October when Harvey's Scarecrow Trail begins.
So, if you think you can help with making the scarecrow or have a great idea for who our scarecrow could be this year, please email us:
