Vacancy -Trainee Grower
Dry Arch Growers is a members’ co-operative, growing fruit and vegetables on a beautiful 6 acre site in Bathampton on the edge of Bath. We are now in our fourth year of growing and we have a vacancy for an Assistant/Trainee Grower to help us develop further the growing potential of the site.
Our Trainee will work under the supervision of our experienced and qualified grower, learning the skills of seeding, planting and growing vegetables. They will also supervise and coach our volunteers who help on site and support Educational visits.
Training will be given in the operation of 2 wheeled tractor, and other tools.
The challenge is to assist the grower in maximising the potential of the land, and to help in the development and expansion of our current veg box scheme.
Qualifications are less important than enthusiasm and a genuine interest in horticulture. This will provide a great opportunity for someone to gain practical experience before moving on to an apprenticeship or college training.
Good local bus service from the centre of Bath.
12 hours per week.
£6.50 per hour.
