An update from our fields - July 2014

The farm is an absolute hive of activity at the moment. We've been harvesting lots of delicious produce from the fields: chard, beetroot, new potatoes, spring onions, lettuces, cabbages and broad beans. The poly tunnels are providing us with plenty of cherry tomatoes, chillies, cucumbers and basil.

The lovely sunny weather is responsible for great flavour and great yields in all our crops. It also keeps the growing team flat out! The most time-consuming part of field life at the moment is trying to keep everything irrigated. We've had almost no rain for two months! Still, as long as we can keep the water going to the crops, they will keep producing lovely harvests.

We are currently planting out the last of our winter crops such as swede, beetroot and purple sprouting broccoli. Once we have done this, our focus will switch once again to harvesting and tending our fields full of summer crops.

As always, we'd love you to come and join us and our fantastic bunch of volunteers helping out in the fields. There is more than plenty to do!

Do we deliver to you?
