- Foraging - afternoon walk
This 2.5 hr scenic foraging walk will guide you through all the fundamentals of foraging and help you discover the abundance of fresh greens, edible flowers, herbs and fungi available through the seasons.
Leah will show you how to safely and sustainably identify and gather wild food, whilst sampling some delights along the way. You will learn how to safely identify edible and medicinal plants and fungi, as well as which ones to avoid! You'll be given hints and tips on how to use the ingredients we find, as well as learning some fascinating folklore about them.
This walk will help you to connect to the environment around you and empower you to go on and learn more. It will be an exploration of the senses as we discover what seasonal bounty is growing around us.
The walk will take place at Chew Magna's stunning Community Farm, where you will discover the importance of sourcing seasonal and sustainable produce. Soak up all this new knowledge while absorbing your picturesque surroundings, from the farm to Chew Lake.
Please allow an extra ten minutes to find the farm so we can start on time.
Please be prepared for what ever the British weather may bring!
