Our veg box prices are changing.
I am writing to inform you of a price increase to our veg boxes from 1st February 2022. We have not increased our prices since 1st October 2018, nearly 3 and half years ago, keeping our prices steady through the rollercoaster of Covid-19 and Brexit to maintain a supply of healthy, nutritious food to everyone in our community.
As the costs of fuel, packaging, wages and the produce we buy have all increased significantly, we do now have to raise our prices to ensure we are still able to deliver plenty of delicious veggies in your box each week.
The new prices are listed overleaf and you can find more information about the contents of each box on our website.
This increase will enable us to put more veg in your box each week, as well as ensuring we can keep paying our suppliers and staff a fair price for all their hard work. As a not-for-profit enterprise, any surplus will be reinvested into our Community programme and used to fund volunteering sessions, wellbeing courses and events at The Farm; as well as helping us manage the land in a way that’s beneficial for all life.
Local veg box schemes can help to transform our food system, encouraging people to eat a seasonal, local, plant-based diet, with minimal packaging; as well as supporting short, transparent supply chains. As we move into 2022 and beyond, we look forward to reinvesting in our veg boxes to ensure that we continue to improve our impact on the environment and help small-scale, local, organic farmers reach the market.
Some of you have supported The Farm since the beginning, some of you are brand new to us. However long you have been with us, we look forward to continuing to deliver fantastic, organic produce to your homes and thank you for your continued support.
